Staff Accountant

Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) refers to a range of accounting and financial services provided by Bowers CPAs & Advisors. These services include outsourced CFO, Controller and accounting services including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic planning; financial statement preparation; full-service bookkeeping; vendor bill processing and payment; customer invoicing; payroll processing and tax reporting; sales tax preparation. Due to the group’s continued growth, we are recruiting for CAAS Staff Accountant position in our Syracuse, NY office. Successful candidates will have a desire to learn and develop their career, while making a difference for their clients

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be a member of our CAAS group accountable for providing Staff Accountant level accounting services including bookkeeping, processing payables and receivables, and various other accounting operations for assigned clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable invoices and payments
  • Process accounts receivable invoices and application of payments
  • Assist with payroll processing and reporting
  • Perform reconciliations of bank, credit and loan accounts to the general ledger
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns
  • Prepare and enter journal entries

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communicator
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards

Salary, $50,000-$60,000
