Audit Specialist - Construction Industry

Help shape the future of construction accounting! We’re seeking a Construction Services Associate to provide audit and advisory support to our construction clients.”

Ideal candidates for this new position are motivated and detail-oriented Audit and Accounting professionals, preferably within Construction/General Contractors , to work within our growing construction niche market. This is an in-office position with flexibility and located in our Syracuse office.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute audit and financial review engagements for clients with a heavy focus on our contractor and construction clients.
  • Audit and financial reviews engagements include planning, fieldwork, analytics, and reporting.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and supporting documentation in accordance with GAAP.
  • Analyze financial data, identify risk areas, and ensure compliance with audit standards.
  • Work closely with team members and clients to resolve questions and deliver accurate, timely results.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve client accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Maintain awareness of current developments in accounting and auditing standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a relevant bachelor's degree
  • Experience working with clients in the construction industry is a plus. This experience would include Work in Process (WIP) schedules along with other contractor and construction-specific financial reports.
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and audit methodology.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with audit and accounting software
  • CPA or track to CPA is preferred but not required

Salary: $85,000-$100,000 (DOE)
